Conflict resolution
Conflict seems be a natural part of
human relations. However in most cases it need not hamper
either our lives or our work. In fact properly managed
conflict can often improve on what either party prefers.
Our
conflict resolution techniques are a natural extension of the
best methods of making decisions. The same concepts used to
gather and analyze information, evaluate possible outcomes and
risks etc. can be applied to help people resolve their
differences and reach agreements that everybody likes, or at
least can tolerate.
These conflict resolution techniques
are founded on:
1.
The belief that in most cases solutions exist that will
benefit all parties involved. This often requires thinking
"outside the box" to consider solutions that meet the
needs of everybody. In many cases at least one of those
solutions will be better for everybody than any initially
proposed course of action.
2. Keeping in mind the
goals of all parties so we can seek means to satisfy to all.
3.
A neutral third party (the facilitator) can be useful in
finding those solutions.
4. That facilitator can
also be useful in reducing conflict. It is a natural human
reaction to reject an idea proposed by an opponent. However
the facilitator can present ideas divorced from their originators
which helps us consider the idea on its merits.
We
can provide a facilitator or we can work with your own people to
help them learn these techniques and apply them in your
oranization.
Conflict
resolution is priced per hour, at the same rate as consulting.
